WHMIS 2015
In this Work Site WHMIS 2015 course you will be taught the new requirements of the WHMIS 2015 requirements. But, also this course is designed to provide you with the knowledge of the old WHMIS 1988 elements as we are in a transition to the GHS (Globally Harmonized System) program. Basically what that means is the old version of WHMIS 1988 is still around and yet there will be new WHMIS 2015 elements being introduced so really we will still need to educate you on both systems.

So, the first portion of the course will act as a refresher to the WHMIS 1988 elements and the second half will be educating you on the new system of WHMIS 2015.

By the end of the course you will be able to identify the following:

  • What is WHMIS and why is it legislated
  • What makes up the WHMIS system
  • What are the responsibilities of an employer and a worker
  • What are supplier labels and workplace labels
  • What do the different symbols mean
  • What are material safety data sheets or the new safety data sheets
